The Castle Inn

Early in 2015 Debbie Searle and her partner Ian Trott took on the Castle. The pub had been closed for 12 months and many thought it would never open its doors again.

With a new roof, new windows and a lots of hard work Debbie & Ian opened their doors over the Easter weekend in 2015 and have barely stopped since. The all day Sunday lunch means that more often than not they can cater for over 100 covers during the course of a busy day.

A mixture of regular items and a changing specials board ensure plenty of variety, and allergies and dietary requirements can be catered for upon request. The puddings are entitled Debbie's Delights as they are homemade, all served by local friendly staff.

Everyone is welcome, if you need refreshment after a hard day or looking for excellent quality home cooked food visit The Castle at George Nympton, always serving real ales, cider along with lager & Guinness, with a range of wines and spirits.

Debbie and Ian also have three ensuite double rooms available for B&B which have been recently renovated to an excellent standard.

For more information or to book your table call on 01769 574945;  you can also visit them online.

Fireworks & Halloween Party

The fireworks and children's Halloween party is on a Saturday close to the 5th November. This is a fun event for all ages: our children's party usually has an entertainer, David Hendy. Our fireworks are set off to music, and afterwards there is live music and a bar in the hall, with refreshments served for all to enjoy.

Village Fete

The Village Fete

Our village fete is usually held in July, and is well attended by neighbouring parishes. Preparations start at 3am when the fire is lit for the hog roast which is slow cooked and ready to serve at lunchtime. Our Wacky Races are a highlight, with karts judged not only on speed, but character and effort put in to the build.

Other entertainment includes live music from our local band, 3 Pint Rule, a dog show, a bottle stall, the lucky programme, the children's lucky dip, a prize draw, children's games, crown and anchor, darts, cake stall, book stall, along with cream teas and a bar which as the day goes on serves "George Nympton Sangria".
